Plan and section of a proposed line from Landport in Portsmouth to the Guildford Junction Railway, with a branch line from Fareham station to Cosham, and a short branch from New Fishbourne to link up with the Brighton line at Chichester. Parishes affected, including those falling within the limit of deviation only : Portsea, Wymering, Widley, Farlington, Bedhampton, Havant and Warblington (all co. Hants) ; Westbourne, Chidham, Funtington, Bosham, New Fishbourne, Chichester (St. Bartholomew and Subdeanery), Mid Lavant, East Lavant, Binderton, West Dean, Singleton, Cocking, Heyshott, South Ambersham, Easebourne, Lodsworth, Selham, Tillington, Lurgashall and Northchapel ; and Chiddingfold, Hambledon, Godalming, Witley and Guildford (St. Nicholas) (all co. Surr.). The branch line passes through Fareham, Portchester, Wymering and Widley (all co. Hants). The plan covers an area of about 0.25;
mile on either side of the proposed line, showing buildings in block plan, fields and woods, and naming farms, mills, inns, etc.
The plan deposited with the Clerk of the Peace, together with two books of reference (one for the proposed main line and one for the branch line), is also in W.S.R.O. [QDP/W89]
